Default NAD...Carvin Legacy

Well my Peavey Duel 2x12 died this weekend. It blew a fuse last Friday....I replaced it and it worked fine for a whole day. The next day I fired it up and when I went to take it off of standby..........nothing. No green light and more importantly.......no sound.

I went skulking around on ebay and Craigslist and found this....................

A Carvin Legacy combo. Just a great amp.......doesn't have the gnarly gain of a 5150 or an older Mesa single rectifier, but with my George Dennis distortion (or any other good box) the thing just wails!! I've just played it through the clean channel with the distortion, Lexicon, and the BBE going straight in, but I'm gonna experiment with running em through the FX loop in both channels.

The only issue on this one is the reverb isn't working....shouldn't be too much of a problem to rectify.........I like the reverbs and delays in the Lexicon anyway. Because of this I got it REAL cheap.....the guy brought it to my house here in the burbs from Boston for $480!!

So what you gonna do with the Peavey? Send it to me and I'll see if it is fixable.

The thing is it's so damn heavy.......80lbs, that sending it out all the way to the west coast would be ungodly expensive. I was thinking of maybe selling it cheap as a project. The Duel 2x12's are really excellent amps, they flew well under the radar.

What would you say the problem might be from my description Jon? I don't think it's the transformer,as it still powers up.....it just wont go off standby.

Well, that's too vague. I'd need more info, PM me if you want. To send it you would take the actual amp out of the cab and send only that, 1/2 the weight or more and way smaller package.

Looks like a great steal Thrall. Wow, I didn't know you could get the Legacy for so cheap.

dude there good amps but for fucks sake try out a marshal avt there truly amazing or a krank evo. youll definetly have enough distortion then but the avt is a better all round amp and has like 30 effects built in doesnt even effect the amazing tone ,try one out or stay with yre current amp and put yre fingers in the dyke and pray
