Anybody have any questions?
Ask them here. I'm trying to figure out
if I have forgotten anything.

I can't really think of anything else,
and was wondering if there was something
I didn't explain in the process.

A quick note that I cleaned up the tutorial thread that tone did so if you see your post gone or changed it was just house keeping.
Again great job John and anyone else comes up with a good one submit it to me or one of the other mods and we'll see about getting it added.

Probably can. The biggest obstacles I can see would be two things: first, you would have to use a lot shorter screws to attach the neck, and you would have to be very careful, because with the Fendre neck pocket is already 5/8" deep, so you would only have 3/8" left to hold the neck to the body! I would think that it wouldn't be very strong.

Another thing, most trem blocks would have to be cut down to work with a body like that. If you were going to try it, I would recommend no trem, just a flat mount strat style bridge. Don't mess with a tuneomatic and stop tailpiece, either. They were designed for Gipsuns, which have an angled neck pocket. They will sit too high off the body (without crazy modifications) to get good action.

The more I think about it, it probably would not be a very good idea to go with just a 1" thick body. Try it with a 1 1/2" blank first, and see how that goes. If you like it and want to try a 1" body, then proceed.

AND, if you are just starting making bodies, I suggest you go out and get a 10 or 12 foot 2x8. Cut it down, and glue up some bodies from that. I got a 10 foot 2x8 for $7, and got 3 bodies out of it. Make sure you allow enough length for the upper horn on the body. When I was making my strat, I got a blank that was being sold for a telecaster body. I didn't think about it, and had to glue on a piece that I had cut off the side to add an extension for the upper horn.
You can't beat cheap wood for practice! So, do three bodies out of pine (lumber) and once you can do those pretty well, then you can proceed with regular tonewood.
