i got a randall T-2 head (and randall cab) so i'm happy with my tone.. i just bought a Furman PL-Pro C Power Conditioner (awesome).. next is :

Peterson VS-R Strobe Tuner
dbx 166XL Dual Compressor Limiter
Ashly MQX-2150 Dual 15-Band Graphic Equalizer
TC Electronic G-Major 2 Guitar Multi Effects Processor (with a Roland FC-300 MIDI Footswitch Controller)
BBe sonic maximizer...
and then a reverb unit and a noise supressor.. but that
s the plan so far..

The TC looks great...I see nothing but praises.

I'm curious why you're getting a BBE, noise supressor, a DBx and an EQ. Do you play a lot of clean stuff?

actually, i got a george lynch tripler (an A-B-C-Y switch) so i got three channels.. i also have 3 amps.. my randall, my peavey VTX, and a yorkville cab for my bass rig.. so.. alot of my rack stuff has 2 channels to it (like the e.q., the compressor/limiter, the bbe, etc..).. so.. one channel will be routed to my randall one way, to my peavey another way, and my bass rig another way.. like i'll skip the bbe on my randall cause it basically has one built into the head.. so the bbe will be for my peavey (mainly my cleans and fenderish tones) and my bass rig.. my compressor will be for my randall and my peavey since my yorkville head has one built in.. and so on.. the compressor/limiter will work well with the randall since it has so much thump to it, i'll be able to drive it better now without clipping or overthumpin.. my randall is really thick in tone.. like a jcm with balls..lol.. so this set-up is killer for me.. i just don't know alot about brands such as carvin and stuff because no-one sells carvin.. so.. i go with what i know.. which is mostly mainstream on this stuff..

I might have to grab myself an ABY switch to go between my ADA and Rockmaster (when I pick it up)

I have a feeling I'll like the gain more on the Rockmaster and the cleans on the ADA

So what's the verdict between the mp-1 and the rockmaster?
Does either one take an overdrive in front better than the other?

I don't have the Rockmaster yet. It is essentially the Preamp from the Peavey Ultra head with another gain stage. And since I had the Ultra I know that the Rockmaster will kill, especially for high gain crunches

took me awhile to get back to this...

The guy with the biggest Rack I know (lol) doesn't have a cooling fan, so I don't think its really necessary.

I've come to realize that the stock ADA MP-1 isn't what I'm looking for, so I'm getting the 3.666 mod one back. still waiting on the Rockmaster aswell, but I'm supposed to be seeing the guy around the end of January/early Feb. and on that day, my rack will double in size, I might have to grab another power conditioner actually.

I'll have 3 pre amps going, BBE, Intellifex, power amp and wireless unit, I think that's all for now, but within the year I plan on getting a big switching system (GCX or something), and I'll likely grab another power amp and cab just for fun, maybe another Velocity if I can find one, might try one of the new one spacers

i got my Peterson VS-R Strobe Tuner in.. it's killer.. got the expansion pack with it for free.. AND two dual-switch pedals.. woo hoo!.. been thinkin of a parametric eq next.. those dang things are expensive.. why would i want one?.. well.. graphic eq's to me work well for shaping sound.. like for speakers and stuff.. parametrics are good to shape tone, like for guitars.. i dig my tone, but different tones are sometimes wanted.. in all actuality, i could do the same with a wah..

Peterson's are supposed to be THE Tuner.

I'll be needing a tuner for my rack one of these days, but I'll likely wind up going with a cheapie lol

As for EQs, I don't wanna dive into those! LOL but they are very cool, and allow you to shape your tones so much more.

My biggest fear with that is you can tweak so much that you'll (I'll) never be happy with my tone. Which is why there is no way in hell an Axe FX is in my future, WAY too much tweakability
