Am I the only one that thinks the RG body is a little on the big side?
They're probably about the same size as a strat or a soloist body, but they just seem bigger. I'm thinking about making one some time, but making it 1/4" smaller around the sides and see how I like it.

Not the only one for sure! I was really into Ibby's for the past few years and owned alot of different RG's and a few Jems (Vai is one of my 3 fav players) and on him they look small or normal at least. On me though- HUGE! It think it's a combination of the fact that they are so square in cut and corners, and that I am only 5'10" and weigh about 140lbs. The size of the old Strikers is one reason I am so drawn to them despite the wood. Too bad about that, but the small size, the deep tummy cuts and all that is just awesome for a small dork like me. The next best thing in the Kramer lineup in terms of small size is the old Focii. Little big bigger, but still not as big looking as an RG. To me a hybrid Striker/Focus would have been the ultimate Kramer in the day!!

It is a full size body, like the Baretta II or Soloist. If you want to see a HUGE instrument look at the RG series basses from the 80s-90's.

I'm actually more comfortable with a dinky style body/Baretta I

Yeah, i'm 5'8", so it just seems big.
My friend had an RG 470, and I had a Jackson PS 2.
Even though they were close in size, the RG just felt bigger.

Dudes like Vai (I would imagine he's fairly tall) and Paul Gilbert (he is tall) it looks fine on them. At least I don't make an SG look huge, like Angus does.

I don't like carved tops on a shredder.

I know, i'm weird like that!
BUT, I think the Joe Satriani (R or Radius series for you old school guys) body is the most comfortable guitar i've ever played. Once I figure out how to do that carve on that shape, i'm going to adapt it to a Jackson Dinky/Soloist body shape. Might try an RG later, but it might turn into looking like a Maxxas.

It's all relative. Puny guys playing full sized guitars will always look stupid. Big guys playing dinky's will always look stupid. Remember boys, accessorize properly!!!!

I think they're a little bit too big as well. I like the JS body the best

I have since found out that the RGs and the Jackson bodies are among the smallest of the mass produced guitars. The JS is actually a little bigger than a strat! It doesn't feel as bulky, because of the contours.
