This is just my opinion, others might have a different opinion but I'd say those KNE bodies are great in general.

Yes, you are right. Robbin had them both forward and backwards ones. But either way they look nice. I'm sure KNE guitars can make them exact but it would have to be a special order.

Its not like there is a template around for them unless someone has got one of those axes where a template can be made. I'd love to make one of those in my wood shop.

That's what has stopped me so far.
I don't want to make a template for a firebird body, because I know i'd put all that time into it, just for one body!

Mitch's body looks right, as far as the real non reverse firebird, because the Gipsun one looks like that. I just like it better when someone (like Jackson) takes a regular Firebird and flips it around backwards. More aesthetically pleasing.

What are you talking about! Mitch's NRFB body does not even look like Gibson's Firebird body either. You telling me that this one below looks the same in shape. What am I missing here ? Looks very different to me.

Hey guys,

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm new here so I'm checking things out.

Anyhow, I made an RG-7 Firebird for a guy a few years ago. All-access neck joint, floyd routing, etc.

I went to guitar center with a piece of 1/4" plywood and the half-pencil I posted about earlier. I had the salesdude pull a '65 Firebird off the wall. He was careful to point out the $2500 price tag as I laid it right on the plywood and traced around it.

If anybody is interested in getting a copy of that template PM me. Also, please don't consider this a "for sale" post, cuz I'm not looking to make money on a template.

It wasn't quite finished when I took these pictures, but they're the only ones I could find.

That Firebird body turned out pretty good. But I'm not a big fan of the AANJ neck pockets, just a personal thing. Other guys like those all-access joints though. Here is one I did recently and prepping for paint this week. The electronics cavity I know looks goofy but trying this StewMac template for the first time and also reduces the weight of the guitar body a little bit.

I meant to say it would be pretty easy to convert it to a standard neck joint...

With a little adjustment, yes it would.
