Default I want a RG565

Like so bad. I am jumping into the 80s Ibanez scene. I've owned every Kramer model ever made and decided I only REALLY like Nightswans (my favorite axe ever), but I remember the MIJ Ibbys being fucking sweet. Are RG565s hard to find?

I've had 7 or 8 of them.....they are more difficult to find than most of the other RG 500 or 700 series Ibanei, but they can be found. I'm jonesing for a black one.....only one I haven't had.

Yeah ive been looking and they sure are scarce. There is one on CL in teal that looks really clean. I need to start saving. I would love an rg550 in DY or RFR but those seem to go for tall cash. Actually what I would give my left arm for is a Jem77 in shocking pink...$$$$$$$$$$$

If anybody can sniff out a 565, it'd be Roger!

An Ibby 565 in teal with the mapleboard neck would definately be on my list.

Its an original!

The original one made in Japan...circa 1991. Only thing not original is the pickups as they are suppose to be DiMarzios. It has a Duncan Hotrail in the neck and JB in the bridge.

The reissues are called RG3XXV and looks almost identical except the blue is a little darker than the original Laser blue finish. Another difference is the re-issues have the AANJ vs. the square scalloped heel with neck plate on the originals.

I TRY not to be snobby, but I'd take an original over the reissue any day!

Its not being snobby at all. I think no matter what the brand/model...any of us would prefer the original over the "reissues".

I'm not really for the originals just because it's an original.
With Ibanez, I just happen to like the old school neck heel better.

Took me awhile to accept the AANJ necks back in the 90's, but they became the norm after awhile. Never cared for the look.
The original RG's were king.
