Question Little help?

Trying to find a black pearl HSH pickguard for my Charvel CSM-1G. I believe it to be a 91 MIJ model. Bought it from the original purchaser in fantastic shape! Having trouble finding a pickguard with this configuration. It's an 11 hole, 5-way selector, one volume and only ONE tone. Got it for cheap! Honestly it plays and sounds better than my Fender Strat or my Ibanez. Anyone know anything about this model?

Welcome to Shred!

That is a real odd ball guitar, in that it doesn't ever show up in any official Charvel literature! It has the beak headstock from the early 90's but instead of the normal toothpaste script logo, it has a late 80's pointy headstock guitar shape logo. So it makes it very difficult to ascertain when it was in production, if indeed it was ever produced in any large numbers. The closest I can come to this guitar is the CX391 which had a Floyd and not the CSM's vintage tremolo.

As far as a pickguard goes...you'd be wise to send your pickguard to a good aftermarket pickguard maker (I use Jeannie Pickguards) and have them make you an exact copy in the color you like.

Hey thanks for the info! Yeah it seems this guitar is a bit of a ghost. Plays great and I'm really pleased with it. Thanks again!
