Default NGD.....Swirled RG-750

Well, I just got this one in.....an 89' RG-750 with a nice professionally done swirl. The bonus on this one is the 81/X/85 EMG set. I took it to the studio today and it was a real pleasure. Played and sounded great.....also LOVE the fact that the back of the neck doesn't have alot of gloss to it.....nice naked feel to it.

Shred approved paint job, the colors work real well.
Me I'd dump the EMGs and go for Duncans but that is just me.

Very nice Roger!

Is the pickguard made of clear?

The paint reminds me of my favorite marble (my shooter) But then again you young kids wouldn't remember that...

Actually Jon, the EMGs were the thing that really threw it over the top for me, I've been on a big actives kick for quite some time now. I replaced the battery when I got it, but didn't remove the pickguard. When I restring it, I'll take a good look inside.....hopefully there'll be enough room for the 2nd 9volt so I can do the 18volt mod. It looked real tight in there though, so we'll see.

Q, I thought the pickguard was clear when I first saw the pics the last guy had, but someone swirled the guard as well. Not once, but twice it would appear, as there's a straight line down the middle........had to have been masked off for the second dip.

I had EMG's in a ProAxe and something else I can't remember and yup with the 18V mod they do sound better but try some SD Blackouts some time and if you really want some balls try the Blackout Metal, I think that's the name - I've got one in a Baretta and it'll take your face off if you want.

Yes.........face removal capability is indeed something I look for in a pup!! I've heard good things about the Blackouts, but have been reticent to try them as I really don't care for Duncan passives. My tech has an 80's era Bartolini waiting for me to decide which axe I want it in. I forget the model number, but it's the one that comes with the preamp. Pedulla made guitars as well as basses in the 80's. Their factory is 2 floors down from my studio space in Rockland,MA. They used them in some of their 6 strings and they were just killer.

Don't know if it'll go in the 750, but I'm looking forward to checking them out. One thing I'd love to do with swirl though, is to put a sustainer circuit in it. Don't know if I'll have the space though.
