Yeah, so this is shredguitars.com and no BC Rich? I don't know what is goin' on here-but those of you who crave vintage BC Richs have come to the right place! Here's a few of mine, a 1979 Koa Mockingbird Shorthorn-
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d124/Sarsicus/CIMG2158.jpg

and a 1980 Koa Mockingbird Longhorn-

Post your pictures, ask your questions, and rock on!

Dude that's some nice wood you have there! Welcome to the forum and bring on more of those axes!!!!

Regarding the lack of a BC Rich category.. it was intentional (to an degree). There were so many cool guitars out there during the 80s but if we included a category for every one of them the index page would be insane to keep track of LOL :) That's why we chose four brands to start with. No offense to any other brand of course... especially Rich! There were few machines that looked as badass as a BC Rich, bro!

In any case, don't take offense guys! We wanted to include every axe out there, but it would get too crazy for us to keep up with (and for you to browse). If the site continues to grow like it is now we might consider expanding more to cover additional brands. Stay tuned and keep posting :)

No offense taken. The site looks great. I'll keep posting some more for you. You guys like doublenecks?

I love me a pretty BCrich and Mockingbirds are quickly growing to be some of my favorites. How much does a USA 'bird like yours usually go for if you don't mind me asking?

I would expect to pay right around $1600-$2000 for a no issue, excellent condition with original case. Depends on the wood and the model. In 15 years they'll sell for $5000, in 25 they'll cost $15,000. They kick fucking ass and play amazingly.

The knobs and switchs are as follows-
Master Volume Knob
Preamp Volume Knob
Master Tone Knob
3 way Pickup switch
Preamp On/Off Miniswitch
Neck Pickup Coil Split
Bridge Pickup Coil Split
Bridge Pickup InPhase/OutofPhase
6 position Varitone Switch(think wah with 6 different fixed positions)

Handy as hell in the studio-thick to squack. On stage just let the bridge pickup fly and you're good to go!

You wanna talk about switches?-

BC Rich lover here. I had a hard time finding a nice lefty model but a few years ago I was over Ed Roman's house/shop and he had a sweet Pearl White lefty Warlock.

It's only a platinum series...but it has the good pickups, the floyd and the painted headstock so I'm not really sure what's going on with it. It is definitely not the like platinum ones I see in the stores (read: cheap and crappy).

I'll get some pics up sometime...I'm still looking for that perfect warlock with the reverse headstock!

Eric, your BC Rich guitars looks absolutely amazing. That Beast has a nice wicked paint job. :headbangd My favorite is that maple board Gunslinger with the neck pup added. :drool2:

Thank you Kind sir! The gunslinger is one of my favs too. Right now she is having a dye job :) It will be a yellow 80's shred monster when ever it warms up and I can paint her.

Here's a question for BC Rich guys...

Are the old USA Mockingbirds, Warlocks and Biches balanced better than the new imports? I love how the new ones play, but they're so freaking awkward and neck heavy!

I would not buy a BCR from97-98 or newer(2005) For the most part they all have balance issues.

Anything '96 or earlier (including imports) is safe, then?

Damn, that sucks, coz I've played a couple Speedloader models that were pretty badass.

I have always liked most BC Rich's, as long as they have that pointy headstock.
The gunslinger that always stands out in my mind is the one that Joey Allen from Warrant used to play. The body had a Felix the cat graphic and the fretboard was split diagonally with maple and rosewood.

The sheer amount of knobs is throws me off BC Rich's but I'd have to say I love Mockingbirds now, I really want one...lol.

My favourite would definetely be hide's. I <3 it.

The BC Rich that has always stood out in my mind is either Mick Mars' white Warlock in the Looks That Kill video (probably the CHEESIEST vid of all time) or Lawless' Widow. For some reason, they are what I think of when I think BC Rich.

Of course, you have Kerry King, too...

I appreciate the comment bro! To be honest, it's really not that hard to make one. I posted a "how to step-by-step" guide on making a guitar body. All it takes is time and some tools.

Now If I could get AxeKiller to send me a trace pattern of that Gunslinger body I could make one of them. Hint-Hint

Have fun with that little bundle of joy, Eric!
Start stocking up on diapers, if you haven't already.
Too bad you can't stock up sleep.

My daughter will be five in July, it seems like
a long time ago when she was first born.
