This one was made on June 26th 1990 I believe.
I bought it from my friend's husband - whose brother worked at Neptune - this was the last guitar he worked on. He was allowed to keep this and a Nightswan. He sold it to my friend's husband for $100 in 1991. It was kept under a bed for the next 15 years...
This is where I come in... I bought it for $500; it was still wrapped in plastic and was in a (factory) cardboard box with June 26th 1990 stamped on it.
The interesting details include an XA prefixed plate, a floyd II and ESP tuners.
Does any one else have anything like this - photos attached.
I like the color and sculpted lower horn.

The photos are coming up kinda weird lookin' here bro :eusa_thin Colors seem to be... well.. missing hehe. Anyway, I can't get a good look at that bridge, but it sure looks like a Schaller double locking trem. Does it say "Floyd II" on it? This guitar is most definitely a parts mutt of sorts. Whether it came out of the factory in Neptune or from Schaller (who was selling "Kramers" after the firesale) it's still not a production model. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not using "mutt" as a derogatory term because I would love to have that guitar (I am a sucker for those dinky pacer bodies) :drool2: , but it's definitely a parts guitar. How does she play? I bet its fantastic! :icon_wink

I see what you mean - I hadn't looked at the photos.
Well the body is sort of an aquamarine stain - so you can see the grain underneath (or not if you look at the photos - is there any tricks to get a better definition - as once I reduce the file size the color goes to hell!).
The trem has floyd II written on it.
I've replaced the plate with a G serial number, though perhaps a H would have been better.
I get the feeling that it is a Kramer built Mutt, in that it was definitely built at the factory during Kramers ownership. I guess in the last days a lot of parts intended for Japan ended up in the US.
The floyd II and ESP tuners were orinally on a Nightswan but were swapped over when this guitar ended up with my friend. Apparently a lot of the guitars my friend's brother worked on were Nightswans and he fitted Floyd IIs and ESP tuners to several at the factory.
So I agree, it appears to be a factory mutt - still plays like a dream though!:icon_bigg

Yeah I can imagine! If you ever decide to sell... hehe. The thing that gets me is the ESP tuners. ESP built most of Kramers stuff in the end days but you'd think they wouldn't use ESP tuners lol. The good part is the Floyd II isn't one of the non-locking types. It's got the Schaller (shorter style) locks on it, which I think is prety cool as well. Some people don't like 'em, but you can pull up farther with them like that!

I was thinking of putting an original black floyd on it together with some schaler tuners - but that will add another $150 to the price - so I will probably keep it as it is for now.
Some good news was that in the day, my local guitar shop was a Kramer dealer - they have a Pacer custom and a Baretta II on the wall as I speak ($750 each) - they fetched out a brand new (from 1990) Kramer case for $80 - so as far as I'm concerned I've got a brand new guitar and case for under $600.
