Hi all!

This looks like a fun forum! My name is Ben, I play guitar in the NYC-based classic metal band TWILIGHT ODYSSEY. We've been around for a couple of years, and our debut CD is available from Hellion Records.

Web site is www.twilight-odyssey.com, and you can hear the single from our album on the "Music" page.

I endorse Gajic Custom and Wayne guitars, HomeBrew Electronics pedals, Bare Knuckle pickups, and Splawn amps. Here are a couple of pics of my gear:

How many freaking amps are in that picture???? that is MOST impressive. Absolutely awesome. BTW, I'm not familiar with the Splawn amps? What's their story?

Welcome!

LOL, those amps belong to the rehearsal studio I use. Here's an even crazier picture of my little corner:

Scott Splawn is an amp builder in North Carolina USA, http://splawnguitars.com/amps_products.htm. He makes incredible amps that basically sound like hot-rodded Marshalls from the 80s; amazing old-school metal tones!!

Welcome!
Thanx!!!

All those guitars look awesome !! That is the first time I've seen a spider web pickguard on a sunburst guitar and it has the maple board reverse head neck on it. That is so cool, where can you get those pickguards ?

It's really funny about the Strat, b/c so many people told me it would look crap, but I had faith that it would look awesome! lol

I got the scratch plate here, http://www.pickguards.com. They are all made to order, so you can get whatever you want, basically. It was about $40 for the scratch plate, and another $12 for the screws (Allparts). The quality of what they make is uber high!

The body of that guitar is a 1979 Strat, which I 'routed' (lol) for a bridge HB. The neck is made by Lazar Gajic. All of my necks are 1-3/4" nut width, 14" radius, with a modified J Frog profile. Fret wire on all my necks is Dunlop 6100.

The bridge HB on the strat is a Bare Knuckle VHII. I found the body to be too bright, however, so I had a mini-toggle installed on the guitar. The down position has a capacitor that mimics a Fender tone control at 8-9, and the up position capacitor is a Gibson tone control at 8-9. There is also a resistor in series with the pickup that tames the very high frequencies a bit. There is no volume control on the guitar, ie, it is "live" at all times.

Thanx!

It started life as an ESP Kamikaze 4. I had Laz Gajic make me a neck, changed all the hardware to chrome (including the OFR), and added a Bare Knuckle Miracle Man to the bridge and Irish Tour to the neck.

What you can't see is that the fingerboard to the green guitar is birdseye maple, and the strat is flame maple. Here are a couple of closeups of the fingerboards:

Thanks for the info on that Spider Web pickguard. I checked out that website and they have alot of cool stuff. I bought a Skull n' Bones pickguard with the one hum configuration off someone from Ebay about a year ago for a future Fender strat project. Ever since Looks like www.pickguards.com is the only place I've seen that have them. Alot of other pickguard websites don't carry the same designs. I also like that "Rising Sun" Japanese graphic pickguard too that they have.

wixomwhat has the rising sun on one of his guitars. It looks amazing!
I have the rising sun graphic on my amp, so I'm covered, lol

MapleShredder

Yes, those Rising Sun graphics are nice. BTW...that Gajic maple board neck is sweet too !! That birdseye maple is absolutely nice. It reminds me alot of the MusicMan Axis guitar I use to have. Those R5 necks are a little thicker for me personally. I'm more into the R1 and R2 necks. Does Gajic make the slimmer profile necks ? Being that they do great custom work, I'd imagine they do.
