PINK STAGEMASTER! AHHHHH
I need new boxers.

I WANT a Standard or a Custom. The slanted bucker ones basically...It's my dream to find a hardware less one to restore for cheap. They don't seem to appear often though :(

I'll expect prompt delivery of the red Stagey to my place for inspection :) Man every time I see that axe I drool. Do you think it's because I'm a Baretta freak? http://www.shredguitars.com/images/smilies/more/wacko.gifhttp://www.shredguitars.com/images/smilies/more/banana.gif

Thats a interesting piece because the lower horn isn't scooped out. That is the only Arch top I've ever seen like that. She gets a fresh clear job next year and new volume and jack. She'll be back to true form then.

I like the Blue one myself Jerry. I'm a sucker for Blue Kramers....just aren't enough of them around. Gold hardware would have been special on that one.

Hey, Jerry
Those are some good lookin Stagey's. I saw one in near mint condition at chris guitars, just like your red one except for it had diamond inlays instead of the claws, if he needs a playmate.

That seafoam green one takes the cake for me. Gold hardware on that would be near orgasmic. I would like a Stagey but I'm a sucker for the banana heads. Especially the REALLY big banana head :icon_wink

The one at Chris's is a flat top. Flat tops are OK but I like the smaller bodied arch tops better.

hey all, i was invited here by the furious one. i am a former kramer employee. your stagemasters were made by esp, most of them 'neck thru' and the majority played poorly due to lousy truss rod design. if you tighten the truss rod you will see a 'hump' in the neck around the 10-12 fret.
we used to put padding below the floyd to cover up the recess area. beautiful to look at but not much for playability.

I've owned an ESP Mirage Custom since 1988, and it's the basically the same guitar made by the same company, and I've never had any issues. I know a lot of guys that own stageys might disagree with your assessment as well. I tend to think it's best to not paint them with such a broad brush.

My 86 stagemaster standard is an amazing player and the truss rod works flawlessly too

Ive never noticed that problem with the stagemasters ive owned or played.
Thats a bit of a sweeping statement really, because although you worked at the plant, how many of the stagemaster guitar did you set up and play out of the total that went out the door. Unless of course they didnt go to Neptune after arriving from Japan?

yeah, I saw that and 1st thought was "so how many pieces of mail did you process each day at kramer"....... but, seeing as how he was invited to the forum I wanted to go easy. Stageys certainly have a much better reputation than stated there and mine does not have this truss rod issue at all- in fact, it's my main jammin axe since the day I got it.

Stephan (podunk fame:icon_lol: ) dished that stagey to me and I was IN LOVE the second I touched it. Very very fine instrument and one that is just......fast!!! I can rip on that neck for some reason and a JB never sounded better in anything I've ever played.

Pure player, high-end custom feel, one of the last axes I'd ever (ever) let go of.

Yeah, but the thing is SOOOOO custom made for RSB from where it came from. That neck is unfinished (paint) from the body joint and is tung oiled and polished to beyond a babies butt: The single Hum JB straight to the jack: Chili Pepper Necks turn me on: Setup is slightly higher than full-sweep which is about as low as I like it for my style: It's Cream!: Nailing multi-octave runs are like a trip on a silk highway: It just.... FITS!

I have not worried about the snapped headstock since I opened the box, found it in tune, and played it with the broken end dangling from 2 strings off the nut. Glue and Sweat = 1 Kickass Stagey for me. I like the mods on the neck and it's been refinished on the headstock before anyway (see the headstock on VK with the sharpie Japanese writing ("says rush for catalog")

I also have a Stagemaster where the lower horn isn't scooped out. I wonder how many are out there like that?
