Your thoughts on the EVH Charvels...
Are they players or just collector's peices?

Interesting question actually. Hard to justify that cost for a player that's for sure!

I played one. The action wasn't amazingly low, but DAMN. EASILY the most playable guitar I ever felt. Frets felt like butter, the guitar was well setup, it resonated great, the neck felt amazing. I'd never shell out 2,200 pounds for it. I don't think it's worth that much at all. But it sure is a GREAT guitar.

Why? They are in the ballpark of Les Pauls and PRSs. I know what you mean though, I lot of money for a super strat. I wonder why he didn't use them as his main axe on the last tour instead of the WG. :eusa_thin

Anyway, I always wanted a VH2 guitar!

Probably a clause in his contract with Peavey.
He probably didn't get a lot of flack over the Artist series, since they target a small niche market.

I believe his last tour was after he parted ways with Peavey.

I'd consider picking one up if they were cheaper, as they'd be a really cool guitar to have in future. However, it seems the EVH royalty markup has pushed it out of my price range by quite a bit!

I had a B/W Striped one... It was ok. The Pick-Up
was very hot and it sounded great... The Neck
and Body felt Exactly like my 2005 American
Strat. I couldn't justify keeping it so I sent it back.
I have an Original San Dimas Serial # 1211 and the neck is
Totally different. Slimmer Flatter and plays like a dream ...

What does #1211 look like? I don't see a photo registered in the Charvel Hall of Fame...always nice to see what's out there...
I also collect San Dimas Charvels...

Nice!! it's My Favorite Color. I'm just hoping I can find someone who can match the Holoflake that's on my SL-1.

Just scored a black and yellow Charvel EVH Art Series off of Craigslist. It is in great condition! Needs a set up and cleaning once I get her home. Was gassing for one of the new Mexican EVH strats but this one presented itself. Can't beat the price and it is going to keep its value compared to the Mexican EVH versions.
