It seems to me like the prices of Jacksons have jumped a little since Fender took over. A new Soloist is over 2 grand. I've new ones list for $2999!

Are some people now seeking out the old "real" Jacksons, driving up the prices on those?

All I know is on the Bay prices for USA Jacks are through the roof lately.

Inflation happens. Everything is more than it was 10 years ago.

The guitars are still awesome, and you can still get new soloists for $1799

It seems to me as though the price hikes have only occured recently. Oil crisis being the main reason.

Back in the '70s they were giving the goddamn things away.

OK?

Uh, LOL...
Peak was late 80's, then a drop in everything "shredder" occurred as heavy metal turned into hair metal, then grunge.
I HAD a music store in the early 90's and fortunately my area was 5 years behind the times so Jackson/Charvel was still a little hot.

I know you're kidding.
But I had to respond.

To the main point, MSRP is not reality.
I foresee a trend where the quality shredders are a buyers market that will bloom.
Ibby's and ESP's included!

Give it another 5 years or so.
