Southeast mahogany beast

Well, I got that mahogany beast yesterday from Warren. It is simply the absolute best guitar I have ever played. The neck is incredible. It is the first neck I have played that can go from simple blocky chords to complex chords to slide to shred at the drop of a hat. Maybe I'm wierd but every guitar I have played is either a great chordy guitar, like an LP, or a great notey guitar like a 1984. This one from Southeast does both and does it with ease. The action is perfect. It came setup with the action in that 'magic' zone. You know what I mean if you play around with action on your guitars. Some guitars just never get to that magic zone no matter what you do. I installed a JB right off and loved the tone. Then tried an 84T and that pup is everything the JB is but more. The tone struck me right off. Its very well rounded. Excellent lows to screaming highs and mids that are pure So. Cal. This is THE tone I want. Its what I've always wanted. Very 1984 like but with more everywhere.

I was looking at the Charvel oil finished guitars awhile ago. I really like those. Simple guitars with a simple mission and killer looks. Then I saw Warren selling this for a fraction of the cost of the Charvel and I knew I had to jump on it. I am so glad I did. So much so that I highly doubt I will buy another 'off the shelf' guitar again. Why when I can get something like this for so much less. If you are nothing more than a collector or need a name to show off I say buy a Charvel, Gibson or the like. If you want nothing but pure performance for a fair price get a Southeast. Its really that simple. My eyes are finally wide open and I can see why so many folks here speak so highly of Warren. I am honored to be in this small tight knit group of Southeast players. You will be to if you want a serious players guitar.:thumbsup

Man that is a sexy guitar, there is no other way to put it. There are some machines that just earn that word like Vai's old 'Green Meanie', Jake E Lee's purple strat, and so on..... and this fits in with those. I love it man!!! :notworthy:thumbs::eusa_clap

Sweet. I never noticed those ones before. ha ha! I like the desk dude. That would have been me looking at my computer screen when that Southeast Beast popped up. Something else "popped" up simultaneously.

Those SouthEast guitars are just like havin' a sore pecker; you can't beat it! :D

I took a long time deciding what I wanted in a custom guitar body, and when I finally got around to ordering, Warren was very helpful and accommodated my every request. I can not stress enough his ability to procure the finest wood your project requires. To say I was thrilled when I received my body is a total understatement. He also refretted the neck I am using for my SEG project, but even better, he is getting into making them now! I will certainly never, ever use a commercial company to make my project bodies or necks!

Nope, ain't gonna do it. Not on this one anyway. I love translucent guitars but this ones going to stay natural. The pics do it zero justice. Besides, most trans or burst finishes on mahogany just look blah. And since the majority of guitars I have are opaque why not leave it alone. Next guitar will be much more colorful.:icon_lol:

^^^Wow! Nice! Still gonna keep this one as is. The next one however, which should be in my mitts soon will have lots of color. Maybe a cherry sunburst thingy.
