From what I understand, the Blackouts are based on the JB and the Jazz.
So, how are they different?

The LW Mustaine set was voiced after the JB/JN combo. The Blackouts are more freely voiced across the spectrum and versatile than anything made to date by SD, IMO.. Check this vid out:

Oh, I see. I thought Blackout was the name of the Mustaine set.
I didn't realize they were two different sets of pickups.

Yup!

FYI: The Mustaine Livewires set is heavier than the AHB-1 Blackouts, while the AHB-2 Blackout set will peel the paint off your soul.

The regular blackouts are like the famous EMG set but a bit higher output and not as dry or flat sounding. The blackouts metal is the livewire metal with a low-output switch on it, lol, you might need it depending on your amp, that thing is HOT. (I've got the LWHMET in my baritone)
