I saw a dude selling this on Craigslist (http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/msg/824870017.html) for $850. Seems like a good deal to me for this type of axe... what do you guys think? Its beautiful. I mean look at the damn clear coat on that thing! It's 3 feet thick!

More (BIGGER) photos here... (http://web.me.com/barryathome/Site/Carvin_Bolt.html)

Sorry, that thing nearly encompasses all the stuff I don't like on a strat style guitar, Mon Capiton.

BLING-BLING GOLD TOOFIE HARDWARE, YO!
Birdseye maple (nope, don't like it)
Abalone dots on a maple neck
CHEESY pearloid pickguard
black pickups on a guitar like that :eusa_eh:
HSS pickup layout
Figured maple on a strat style body
transparent finish
and to add insult to injury: the transparent finish is a burst.

The only way it could have been worse for me, would be if it had a carved top, and was a GREEN BURST.
YMMV, maing. :icon_wink

That was too good to pass up,
I had to do it. :eusa_danc
If you read that with my drawl, it'll (one of those NC slang contractions) be funnier.

I think it might still be priced a lil high. Carvins dont seem to hold value to much for some reason?

If it played and sounded nice, I would pay $850
for a guitar of that quality. But, i'm not up on
what the resale value is on guitars.

Agreed on the Carvin resale value thing. I wonder why that is as well. The only thing I can figure is because alot of them are "kit" type guitars and I'd imagine that has to impact value somehow, right? I'm only guessing of course, but it's the only thing I can think of. If I'm buying a guitar and have two choices... one built by Carvin, and the other built by some dude in a trailer over in North Platte, Nebraska... I'm gonna pay more for the factory-built one. My logic might be all sorts of flawed though, so don't take me too seriously LOL.

$850 for this guitar seems okay to me, but it might be just because I've got my maple-top-loving glasses on right now. Hahaha. I do have to admit I agree with Toneseeker on a couple things like the pickups and the inlays. Ick. :icon_eek:

I went to Carvin's web site and you can take a video tour of the factory as they build a guitar. That finish is UV cured in something like a minute - amazing.

They have interviews and more inportant they show all them machines at work, might be the same of what you saw? THey showed a machine rounding the backs of necks 4 or so at a time.

It's all good, bro,
just ain't my thang.

I knew you wouldn't
take my comments too seriously.

Carvins are like PRSs,
you may not like them,
but you cannot fault the
workmanship, or fit & finish
of the instruments.
