I got the last axe that I was expecting yesterday........a 93 Ibby RG-570,so
I figured I'd wait for the wife to leave and schlep em all upstairs to take
another collection pic.........here they are.

Yup,got that one last week.....it's got an onboard preamp in it that sounds
real nice.

Yup...and RBM-1. The color is extremly hard to photograph. It has alot more green in it in real life.

Inquiring minds want to know how that 570 sounds. The only guitar I've ever had with active pups is a Model 5. Is it compressed? How are the highs and lows compared to a standard mag pup?

Well unlike the Jackson PC-3 I had,there isn't a very discernable difference in the sound of the actives on this one as opposed to passive pups. The Jackson however had the 18volt mod done. I never looked in the cavity,but I assume there are two 9 volts employed in this mod. Whatever it is,there is a definite difference. The one thing about the 570 that I did notice though is that it really sounds good with the heavier gauge strings and detuned to B. I have 11s on it now....they're too sloppy though,I'm gonna pick up a set of 12s or 13s.

Oh, yeah, that's a car battery wired in series with a lantern battery.
Sounds great, but man it's heavy...
