Evrything positive You can read about it is TRUE.. !!

First impression of the axe was that this is really high quality.. All the way through..

This is an amazing axe.. Normally Parker goes for having a very good playability, and it's true.. This one does it better I.M.O, because of its flat neck..

Great sustain.. ! And its a true pich harmonics machine, just look at the bitch and she screams as she was whipped.. :drool2:

Normally jb's are bright in the tone, but not in the SL 1.. It has a great sound..

Only thing I had a little thought about is the painted neck vs. a satin finished one.. But in the 2 weeks I had her I havent thought one singel time about getting the paint off yet..

If You have the money go and buy it.. ! ! !

painted neck is the one thing I didn't like about them, but I'm not letting that prevent me from getting one. I'll see how big of a factor it is...

I now find that the JB bridge sounds muddy because of the alder body ( and I'm not the only one who has that opinion ), even though a JB usally sounds bright... So I have bought an used EMG 85.., even though I haven't given up on buying a 81 for it.. The 81 will proberly sound more clear and bright..

I don't normally like painted necks either, but my Jackson USA Soloist is an exception.

I got rid of two Gibsons due to painted necks. I had an Ibanez Destroyer where the painted neck was OK but not great. The painted Jackson neck is not an issue at all, it's smooth and not the least bit sticky.

I bought a pre Fender one used. Stared at it for a long time. Really wanted it but didn't have the cash. Ended up trading a few of the herd for it. The more I played it after I bought it, the more I love it. Currently it is my number 1. Sounds great. Sustains for days. Wide neck which just feels right everywhere. Glad I got it.

Great guitar...
But I don't know about the neck and middle pickups...(hum-cancelings that simulate single's sound)...it depends on the taste,f.e I would chage the pickups...an TB-5 and 2 litlle 59er's...niiiice...

SL1s are killer. If you get get a mid to late 80s ones those are the sh*t! :) I have a Bengal graphic one from '87 and it's easily my best guitar to play. The mid to late 80s ones usually had the JE1200 pre-amp installed as well which is a great pre-amp boost.

The Bengal pattern is different than what Jackson has been doing since the 90s so it's unique. I love it.

I HAD an SL1 and a SL2H at the same time. I ended up selling the SL1 because I preferred the SL2H. They're basically the same guitar, so it was no big deal. I found that the pickups actually got in the way of my playing. I thought I was just losing my mind, but then my cousin said the same thing about his SL1 and ripped out all of the pickups except the bridge. Now that's his favorite guitar. For me, I just sold the SL1, kept the SL2H, and then used the money from the SL1 to buy a DK-1 which is a bolt on version of the SL2H :icon_bigg

Now I am very happy and love both my SL2H and my DK-1:eusa_danc

The neck on the SL1 and SL2H is just incredible. It's probably my favorite neck of all time. The guitars sound killer, they're so comfortable, great sustain, etc.
