They aren't made in the same place, and there IS a difference between ESP and LTD guitars. There is a lot more attention to detail. Don't know the specs on the hardware on the LTD's, but the quality of an ESP version is much greater. Do NOT kid yourselves boys!

Yes, I think the hardware on the LTDs are cheaper quality than the ESP. Also on the LTD models they have a Duncan designed neck single coil pickup vs. the ESP pickup on the higher end ESP line. Also the LTDs are made in Korea while the ESPs are made in Japan. There is a reason why they are so different in price.

In this link there are some sweet ESPs. :drool2: Take a look at the Michael Padget ESP V guitar in the same row as the Lynch Serpents guitar. Do you think Adam might :drool2: over that one ? :eusa_whis

GL's sword & snakes is my fav. too. Never owed a real one as they are way too expensive. I just have to settle for the copies. :icon_lol:

I want a Michael Wilton Signature model, but I REFUSE to buy one because Wilton's guitar has tri-ryche inlays up to the 12th fret, and the ESP Sig model doesn't have them!! :scream:

I have the ESP Skull and Snakes. It is very nice. the only way to get a true Lynch tone... by using his gear...

I tried a LTD model of the Skull and Snakes after I purchased mine. Totally different feel and sound. I did not like it at all. The graphics looked horrible, almost like a photo copy of the ESP. The colours were wrong. The neck felt different. The ESP is really wide. The LTD did not seem as wide. There is also a difference in the heal of the guitar. Not the same at all. Is it worth the extra money for an ESP compared to a LTD. In my opinion it is. Still a Japanese guitar but one I wanted for 15 years until I finally could afford one.

EXACTLY! If they would've given it the CORRECT inlays, I would've bought one last year. I had it on layway, but changed my mind because of the little things that I know they're going to change someday and I want to wait until they do.

And if they never do, then :icon_sad:.

...I like Whip and Lynch both. I need to get an ESP.

Yeah, how fucking stupid is the inlay thing. I love ESP's, but I just don't get it on that. They have some bizarre inlays on other sig models and do them all correctly, but not the Wilton? Makes no sense.

I'd love to find some of DeGarmo's Mindcrime guitars!! And the Wilton NYC Graffiti graphic!:thumbs::thumbs:

Did you catch the Graffitti ESP on the bay not that long ago? If I remember, it went for less than a grand!

Yeah I did...unfortunately, it was pretty beat up. If I'm going to pay $1K or more, it's got to be decent, you know? I was thinking hard about it, but I just couldn't justify it. That'll be one of those impulse buys someday when a good one pops up!

I hear ya, Mike. I like to buy axes that are in good shape, but if they have a few nicks and chips, I usually don't mind it. If it's something that affects it structurally, then I pass on it. I like an axe to have a little road rash, gives it character.

But that only applies to sub $500 guitars. :icon_lol:

I think the tip of the headstock was chipped too, IIRC. That's a huge no-no for me with the ESP's. The only one I have that has a chipped headstock is the one I bought new in 1987 and rode hard for years when I was gigging!

Ooh, I didn't see that. The Pacer I just bought had a crack in the headstock near the high E tuner that was repaired professionally, but I think that for the price (and considering it's maple) I'm not gonna get too worked up about it. But cracks along the neck pocket, etc, are usually a red flag for me, especially if they're through to the wood.
