Nice guitar! :drool2: Those 1221 series Pacificas are the few Yamaha guitar models I really like. I use to have a chrome red one with the maplefretboard and black zig zag inlays model 1221M which is the strat shaped one. Played really good and had that nice feel that you get when playing a thin neck just like the Ibanez wizard necks. Picked it up on Ebay for $335 shipped in hardshell case. No longer have that guitar anymore though.

$335 shipped......nice grab!! If I see one these going for that come income
tax refund time,I'll be all over it. I'd like to snag a 1421 as well. I saw one go
on the Bay a few months ago for about $400.

Hey bro, that ain't nothin like the yami that I was talkin bout on the phone week. This dude's was a lesser model but it was a street sweeper.

That baby is the only one like it that i have seen. when did they produce those????

Hey Bob just noticed your post now. I believe these were produced somewhere
in the 1988 to 1994 period. No surprise there though....it seems to me that this
was the golden era for alot of manufacturers.

I gotta say,I truly love this guitar. About the only scenario that would have me
selling it would be one of the kids needing an operation.....God forbid!! Even though
I "promised" the wife I'm done looking for a while,I still sneak a peek at Ebay in
hopes of finding another one. One did show up last month...a red one. It went
for $380. I'm still kicking myself for not sniping it!!

some people believe that chrome guitars were made for guitarists brush their hairs even if there is not a mirror near them !!!

:icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:

Hey bro I think I already told you but I had one just like that but in the same blue as RSB kramer and pickguard was white pearl just like Vai's blue one.

I remember you saying that. They're great players aren't they?
I'd also like to snag one of the Yamaha Studio Lord Les Pauls
too. The 500 series looks pretty sweet.:drool2:

Yeah it's the Yamaha version of the Floyd....I think they called it the
Rock and roller or something like that.:icon_lol:

It's a really nice trem, better in some ways than the Edge or the OFR.
For one thing the ball ends of the strings don't have to be cut off.

I really miss my red Yamaha Pacifica 1221M mapleboard with black zig zag inlays. Was such a sweet playing guitar and I loved the neck profile on it. Every time I see a pic of your chrome mirror Pacifica mapleboard tele it reminds of how sweet those guitars play. Hang onto that one, its a keeper.

Why cutting the ball ends ?
Keep them in the tuning machines !
It looks better than a string edge wich sometimes hurts your finger.

Yeah the string ends hurt like a bitch if you get poked with them, don't they?
I don't think the ballend through the tuning pegs method completely eliminates
the need to cut the strings though. What about the heavier/wound strings?
You stil gotta trim the skinnier ends of those.

Jeff....you're 100% right, these play very similar to the Ibby's. And it is for
sure a keeper.

I always cutted the strings end for having the perfect strings turns around the tuning pegs.
So put the strings through the tuning pegs untill their balls stop there and cut all strings about 4 fingers after the bridge.
Nice and perfect and no hurting fingers :roflmfao:

Yup,I get what you're saying.....I just meant that regardless of which
end you put through the pegs...you still have to cut them. Not a big
deal, but with the trem on this one you just feed the strings through
the back of the guitar.....like on a strat.
