Hello everyone......my first post here. I figured I might as well put in a little
guitar porn while I'm at it.......LOL!! My 91 RG-770DX and 91 RG-565.

Both of them individually.

And the obligatory collection pic. The PC-3 and stock RG-760 are gone.
The Ghostrider is on the Bay tonight. The one with the diamond plate is
a HIGHLY modified/Wingerized RG-760.

Thanks man....on both counts. The collection is an ever mutating thing.
Always something coming in and going out. I also got an 85 Robin Medley
Deluxe Limited that isn't in this pic. That's going on the Bay as well. I had
a bit of bad luck with my car and gotta bail out a bit unfortunately. I think
I'll be able to set aside a bit of $$ for some peripheral gear without the wife
finding out though...lol!! Gotta mitigate the pain somehow.

Ok Ben here's a couple of the Robin. The one you reffered to as the 560 is
a 565. Most likely a typo on your part,but I thought I'd mention it.

Excellent collection, the 565 is so rare and so awesome. I cannot understand why Ibanez doesn't listen to their players and make the guitars we actually want (540Pii comes to mind). 770DX is also sweet.

Boston Sox hat, I'm going to vomit.

and yeah that was my bad lol, 565, I dunno why I always type 560 lmao

Yeah,I'm with you on that. Ibanez doesn't make a damn thing that I'd even
remotely consider coughing up any of MY blood money on. Maybe the 20th
anniversary 550s,but even those I'm not too sure. The vintage ones can be
had for quite a bit less. I'm afraid they might be going the way of Kramer and
BC Rich and a few other companies I can think of. Churning out budget and
beginner's models to make the quick buck, while alienating the guys like us
who made them what they are.........or should I say were.

I have heard from a friend of mine who's tight with a pretty reliable source,
that they're gonna introduce a few S series models at the winter Namm show.
One of them is supposed to be a 24 fret model. Not much of a big deal for me
though.......I'm definitely an RG guy myself.

Oh,and the hat.......I see you're from NY. Well believe it or not I feel your
pain........I AM enjoying it,but I can relate. Your Yanks are gonna look quite
different next year.

Will do. It's pretty crappy out today....plus I gotta leave for work in a bit.
I'll wait for the sun to come out tomorrow (hopefully) and take some real
good outdoors pics. This one has been pretty radically modded for sure.
The previous owner took it backstage at a G3 show and got Vai's autograph
on the spring cavity cover. Definitely not the reason I sniped it,but interesting
nonetheless.

In this one you can see the amorphous blob that is the Ibby logo. The guy I bought it
from thought it would be cool to hand draw the logo with a silver marker.........DOH!!!
I got an Ibby decal off the Bay. I plan on bufffing out the remaining silver residue and
putting it on there.

job IMO.

This is the RBM10 I had. I like the mutant quite a bit more. This one here
played really nice, but being the Korean version it had the LO-TRS III trem
and mediocre pups. Also it was VERY neck heavy.

:icon_lol: Yeah,a 565 in Emerald green would be sweet. They only came in
red, teal, and black though. I got this one despite the fact it was red......
not because it was red. Definitely not my favorite color, but I couldn't pass
this or the red 770DX up.

Well I think because it has the EMGs installed,it's kind of an apples/oranges
comparison. For what it's worth I scored a stock 760 from a guy on Jemsite.
This one here slayed it in every way. But again, that could be becuase of the
pup upgrade.

Weren't the RBMs
made from mahogany?

uberthrall
11-20-2007, 01:57 AM
Yup....they were. I had an RBM10.....korean made. It played really nice, but it had the
shitty Lo-trsII trem and weak stock pups. Also, that and a Hamer Steve Stevens I had
are the two neck heaviest guitars I've ever played.

Ah what the Hell,I'm sure nobody minds another gratuitous piece of guitar porn....lol!!
This, obviously was it. I had it for a couple of months then flipped it at a $200 profit.
I liked the idea of having one,but the trem and the pups would of had to go......too
much hassle at the time. I wouldnt mind getting an RBM1 or RBM2 though.

uberthrall
11-21-2007, 11:22 AM
Yeah,it's one of the several differences in the two lines. I'd be willing to bet that
they'd sell quite a few of these if they ever decided to make them again.
