Very nice and much easier than building your own. :icon_wink
My favorite setup, two smokin humbuckers.

the only thing that is confusing me is how to adjust the trussrod. where do I do it at?

wfojon
07-22-2007, 01:47 PM
Why it is right down there by the neck pickup, just jerk the neck off the body and adjust away. Yup, it is a pain in the butt, you have to just kind of guess what you want and try it then do it again if it isn't right.:eusa_whis

Hey so I am repainting the guitar. Here is a pic of it so far:

I was wondering if I could buy that Kramer neck you offered awhile back Jon. Would you be down to sell it to me? I hate the way the trust rod is on the current neck. Its such a pain

How often do you have to adjust the truss rod?

How often do you have to adjust the truss rod?

not often, But I also like the look of the other kramer neck and not the one that came with my kramer. I think the other ones look way cooler.

You have it looking good Jon!
I traded the neck to a kid here and helped him put it on a LP style body. That was something, a 25 1/2 scale neck on a 24 3/4 scale body.

lookin good in yellow!
I'm not a fan of the truss rod at the bottom either

The yellow is definitely an improvement.
I don't mind the heel truss rod adjustment.
For me, truss rods are usually a
set-it and forget it type of thing.

Kind of like the intonation on my Les Paul. :icon_lol:

So here is what I have done with it so far:

haha, thanks guys. It was my first time doing something like this and it has been fun. Yeah, but the guitar just seemed to be saying to that it needed to be yellow.

I think the splatter is good.

I wouldn't do any more to it,
you don't want it over done.

Congratulations Jon,
you've just took a pretty cool guitar,
and turned it into a rippin guitar! :eusa_clap
That thing is going to look really good with black hardware.

Thanks alot! I'm addicted to this kind of stuff now. I want to do this to my other 2 guitars. I want a red one with black splatter and a white one with black splatter. but I don't know, they are my rgs and I'm kinda of scared to mess with them.

Look at it this way,
they make RGs every day.
It's not like they are
pre CBS strats.

If you're not looking to
get rid of them, then no problem.

Your guitar paint project looks like its coming along nicely. Hopefully you remembered to tape mask the neck pocket before painting so when you assemble the neck onto the body the dried paint does not get on the neck heel.

I went to the duncan site and saw all that stuff. But none of the diagrams look like what the inside of my guitar looks like. My buddy Joe knows a thing or two, I'm sure he can help me.

haha, well if you like really low guitars. I have the thing tuned down to C. 2 whole steps down. here is a pic of it all together:

http://shredguitars.com/imagehosting/26546ff31a35d386.jpg

I used spray paint on it, and for minimal supplies... I am satisfied with the outcome.

Perfect. I really like the chrome hardware.
I thought black would look better on it, but not anymore.

You're probably going to get asked: "where did you get that from" or "what kind of guitar is that?!"
