Hey guys, just wanted to post a new demo recording we did with my band. It's not my typical kind of music but I'm digging it alot. Fun to write guitar parts for a different type of music!

It Can't Rain All The Time (http://shredguitars.com/staff/adam/band/demos/Cant_Rain_All_The_Time.mp3)

And now for some eye candy for the ladies :D:rofl:

Sounds very good man. You know you are one of my favorite guitarists!!

Imagine how good it would sound with a nice sounding tube amp...:icon_wink :icon_lol:

How many rhythm tracks did you record, and how are they panned? They sound a little toward the center. It seems like they could be a little "bigger" sounding....or maybe it's just me being a tard?? LOL :eusa_eh:

Great job man!! Can I have your autograph? :notworthy

Thanks dude! Yeah the guitar tone, as you know, is a bit different for me. I usually like to make it as big as I possibly can to fill things out. Learned that from Zakk Wylde years ago :icon_wink I didn't mix these songs, so wasn't able to apply my patented formula hahah :icon_lol: But the guy who did the mixes is far more talented than I am anyway so it's a good thing. I agree with you though, the guitars sound a bit too panned to center. On these recordings, whenever you hear a distorted rhythm section, I've doubled the guitars. Otherwise, its just a single track for solos and clean guitars. On "Standing" I did two clean tracks though... but only during choruses. I also did the synth on that song.

Whenever I do my own recording, this is generally how I do the rhythm tracks. I record two of them as I said before, but use two different presets and EQ curves for them as well. For instance, the left side might have a bit more high end bite than the right... or whatever. I don't pan them hard left/right either. That's just too funny sounding to my ears. I tend to pan somewhere between 13-15% either way. This adds enough separation to them to make the sound huge, but not enough to make it just sound "stereo", which ends up being thin sounding all over again to me.

When you going to have a gig in ca? I'd do a road trip to be there....

Definitely dude! Vinnie said he'd come too! How cool would that be?? We are supposed to open for Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker on March 24th in Santa Cruz, CA... BUT I think it's getting rescheduled. It's gonna be pretty cool from what I understand... like 6 bands or something. We would be the opener for the headliner, as the singer is friends with them :eusa_dancBut like I said, that date is up in the air from what I've heard. I'll keep ya updated tho!
